Unsurpassed dominancy of Tata Motors in the field of commercial vehicles in India will set a new high further, as the company is currently working on a new medium range commercial vehicle of GVW 3 tons. We spotted the prototype of the same being tested near Pune for the first time. ‘Elder bro of Chota Haathi’ is our appellation for it. With the introduction of this vehicle, Tata Motors would be pioneering an altogether new range in medium capacity commercial vehicles in India. The cabin design of this product is based on Tata Ultra- a light truck currently being offered in two versions- 8 tons & 9.6 tons.
With roads in cities getting congested with traffic, it is essential to have a vehicle of smaller size but larger payload capacity and this vehicle serves exactly the same. It is almost equivalent to two ‘Tata Ace’ which is of GVW 1.5 tons.
Foresightedness has always been the quality of Tata Motors and is re-emphasised with this product because they are the ones who have spotted the future needs of flourishing Indian market.
Expecting to see it on road soon!
